Thank you for a great Christmas Giving Total
Throughout the Christmas services we invited our congregations to contribute to charitable work with children through their giving at our services. This year the Christmas giving came to £1,189
At the carol services and crib service at St Frideswide and St. Margaret, people gave £520 to support the charity Homestart Oxford and Bicester. Homestart provides practical and emotional support to vulnerable families with at least one child under five. Support is offered by trained volunteers who befriend individual families.
At the St. Lawrence Christmas Fayre, a portion of our takings went to both Botley and North Hinksey Primary Schools. Both schools received £100. The Bursar from Botley told us that the money raised would go towards purchasing some additional resources for teaching maths
In its 45th year, the giving at the St. Peter and St. Paul Christingle service went to support the work of the Children's Society. £210 was given at this service, £27 from carol singing. In addition, North Hinksey Primary School families gave £285 and giving from the Children's Society box holders was £617.
