Saturday Stitch launches in May
The Saturday Stitch 10am - 12 noon from May 11th
A regular time for people to drop in and add some stitches to the St Frideswide Community Tapestry Project. The idea is to make a series of simple tapestries which anyone can have a go at - whether they come to church regularly, pop in occasionally, or simply feel that we are all part of the same community and belong to West Oxford. These will be turned into beautiful kneelers for the church.
It doesn't matter if you've never threaded a needle before, this is your chance to have a go and help make something beautiful - you could add just a couple of stitches if that's what you'd like to do. If on the other hand you are a whizz with a needle you might like to spend longer with us and do some serious stitching.
If this isn't your thing, but you'd like to bring something to do in like-minded company please do come along. We'd love to see knitters, sewers, beaders, sketchers and a whole variety of creatives, young and old, for a get together. It could be a chance to share and learn skills, swap tips and get inspiration for your next creation. Bring your projects, learn the basics, improve your techniques and enjoy the company of others. And cake. You could bring cake. We'll provide the tea and coffee as it's thirsty work :)
